Films about wine and love

Five romantic films for an evening with a good bottle of wine.

Wine and cinema — hardly a better pair exists. We start with romance: what beats an evening with someone dear and a good bottle? Our humble top five.

1. A Good Year (2006)

Ridley Scott, Provence, a vineyard and love — it all fits. Even if you’ve seen it, a good film, like a good wine, deserves a second round.

2. A Star Is Born (2018)

A powerful story, a wonderful soundtrack and passion on screen — perfect for an evening for two.

3. Original Sin (2001)

Angelina Jolie and Antonio Banderas, a twisting plot and love-hate passion. Tested with a glass of red.

4. My Blueberry Nights (2007)

The acting, the cinematography and the music — even a cold evening turns warm as blueberry pie.

5. Scent of a Woman (1992)

Skipping it would be unforgivable. Bartenders and sommeliers are said to recommend it most — with a glass of red. Shall we check?
