FEATURES

Tasting Notes
Deep ruby-red. The nose is dominated by ripe berries such as blackcurrant and blackberries, supplemented with notes of prunes and sweet spices. The wine tastes rich, with a silky texture, shades of black fruit, chocolate and a slight hint of nuts.

Vineyards
Located on the terraced slopes of the Douro River, with soils rich in slate, which provides optimal conditions for the cultivation of the region's classic grape varieties.

Production Method
It is aged in large oak tanks for several years.

Grapes are harvested by hand, fermented in open vats with temperature control. The fastening process stops fermentation, preserving the natural sweetness.

Food Pairing
It is great for cheeses with an intense taste, chocolate-based desserts, nut pies or just as a digestive. It is recommended to serve slightly cooled, at a temperature of 14–16 °C.

wine tasting tips for beginners

Wine is not just a drink — it is a whole experience. Its taste is influenced by serving temperature, the glass, aeration, and even how you take your first sip.

Preparation 🌡️

The right serving temperature is one of the key factors. Red wines 14–18°C, white wines 8–12°C, sparkling wines 6–8°C.

Which glass and how to hold it? 🍷

The best choice is a tulip-shaped glass (350–450 ml) with a narrowed top. Always hold the glass by the stem to avoid warming the wine.

Aeration 💨

Helps open up aromas and flavours. Red wines — 15–40 min before serving, whites and sparkling wines are served immediately after opening.

Quick tip: gently swirl the wine in the glass

Wine Tasting 👄

First sip — small, spread the wine across your palate.

Second sip — assess the balance of sweetness and acidity, fruity and spicy notes.

Aroma 👃

Before sipping, inhale the wine aroma without swirling, then gently swirl and inhale again. Note fruity, spicy, floral and woody notes.

Wine & Food Pairing 🍽
